The Cotswold Barn

The grounds at The Cotswold Barn

Open skies.
Room to breathe.

Step through the bi-fold doors and the countryside becomes part of your stay: two sun terraces, open views, evenings around the firepit and acres of space around you.

The barn sits within our private 17-acre hilltop setting, with a private two-acre field for guests staying with dogs and walks beginning almost from the door.

Morning on one side.
Evening on the other.

Two terraces sit on different sides of the barn, so there is usually somewhere lovely to be as the light moves around the building.

From first coffee onwards

Stay outside a little longer.

Start quietly with coffee outside, open the doors when the day warms up and let lunch drift into the afternoon.

Later, move around to catch the evening light and the countryside views beyond the barn.

With wide bi-fold doors on two sides of the living space, indoors and outdoors naturally become part of the same place.

Morning Coffee in the softer light
Afternoon Lunch with the doors wide open
Evening A seat outside as the light changes
Slow mornings

No need to hurry.

Bring breakfast outside, pour another coffee and decide what to do with the day when you are ready.

Long afternoons

Leave the doors open.

Wander between the kitchen, terrace and fields while everyone settles into their own version of doing very little.

Golden evenings

One more drink outside.

Watch the last of the light move across the countryside before heading inside - or on to the firepit.

02 / As the day slows

The firepit.
After everything else.

Some evenings are made for staying outside.

Settle into a chair around the circular firepit, wrap up when the air cools and let conversation carry on beneath the open sky.

It is uncomplicated, relaxed and one of our favourite ways to end a day at the barn.

03 / Bring them too

Countryside stays are better with the dog.

Dogs are very welcome at The Cotswold Barn by prior arrangement, and we have tried to make staying with them genuinely easy.

Guests have use of a private two-acre field, giving dogs space to stretch their legs without getting in the car first. There are countryside walks close to the barn too, so it is easy to head out without needing to get in the car.

Just let us know about your dogs before you book so we can make sure everything is arranged for your stay.

Quiet lanes, footpaths and countryside begin around the barn.

A little housekeeping: dogs are welcome by prior agreement and we ask that they stay off beds and furniture during your stay.

In our guests’ words

Their kind of
countryside.

“The barn is gorgeous and the perfect setting for a group family trip. The dogs in particular loved the idyllic Cotswolds countryside right on the doorstep!”

04 / From the barn

Leave the car where it is.

You do not need to go far to feel properly in the countryside. Pull on your walking shoes and head out directly from the barn.

A quick wander

The twenty-minute loop.

A gentle local loop begins behind the barn - ideal first thing in the morning, before dinner or with the dogs.

Go a little further

Fields, footpaths & the Spinney.

Continue onto the surrounding paths when you feel like a longer walk and a little more countryside.

A useful destination

Walk to the pub.

The Lion in Tredington is around five minutes away on foot - conveniently close for lunch, dinner or a drink.

A little more room

Your own stay.
Plenty of space.

There are no neighbouring holiday cottages and no shared resort-style grounds.

The detached barn sits within our private hilltop property, surrounded by open countryside. We live in the main house across the driveway, so there is a friendly face nearby if you need us.

Otherwise, we will leave you to settle in and enjoy the barn and its surroundings at your own pace.
